At Peak Dental Arts, we may recommend a dental bridge if you are missing multiple teeth because it acts as a “bridge” to replace the gap caused by the loss of those teeth. Typically, multiple missing teeth can cause the remaining teeth in your mouth to shift and move, causing longer-term issues with bite, chewing, and even your appearance.
A dental bridge is made with an artificial tooth that replaces your missing tooth, and it is “anchored” by two dental crowns that are fitted over healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth space.
During our dental exam and consultation, Dr. Lanik may recommend a bridge to prevent further damage to your surrounding teeth. He will discuss your treatment options with you based on your dental health status and goals.
Your dental bridge can last many years if you take care of it properly; visit our office for regular exams and cleanings, and brush and floss daily.
We can build a dental bridge to replace a maximum of four missing teeth, but most commonly, we build dental bridges to support two missing teeth.
We may recommend a dental implant as an option to replace your missing tooth. While dental implants take multiple appointments and more time than a bridge, they are a more permanent solution.
